About the experience
À sa tête, Walter Mendoza, saxophoniste et clarinettiste franco-colombien, forge un jazz singulier. Formé au classique et au jazz, il a parcouru les scènes de Cuba, Colombie, Argentine, Haïti, et Espagne, avant de s’installer à Paris où il se produit régulièrement dans les clubs de Jazz de la scène parisienne. Walter Mendoza Trio (ou Quatuor) explore un jazz ancré dans la tradition, ouvert aux influences du monde. Porté par une formation souple — saxophone, contrebasse, batterie, et parfois un invité — le groupe mêle hard bop, jazz classique et rythmes d’Amérique latine : calypso, bossa nova, rumba.
