On February 13, Coliseu Club welcomes Gala Mascarada — a masked ball and a special edition of one of the city’s most singular nightlife projects. Known for creating experiential parties that inhabit historic architectures through music, performance, and a contemporary visual language, Gala — a project by artists Denny Azevedo and Ricardo Don — held a three-year residency at Palácio do Grilo and now makes its debut at the Coliseu for a night of shimmer, excess, and freedom. A landmark of Lisbon’s cultural life, Coliseu dos Recreios has, for over a century, hosted some of the city’s most celebrated Carnival moments. Echoes of masks, music, and exuberance still linger within its walls. Gala Mascarada reclaims that atmosphere in a ball for today: intense, dance-driven, refined — with no nostalgia, no reenactment. The ball begins at midnight. Venga Venga DJs host the night, leading the dancefloor through a curated journey spanning house, disco, italo-disco, eurodance, afrobeat, Brazilian music, and tropical rhythms. Guest DJs and performances unfold throughout the night, keeping the floor in constant motion. Masks are essential. They are part of the code, the ritual, and the atmosphere. Gala Mascarada is not a spectacle to watch. It is a ball to move through.
